{Mr. & Mrs. Jones} Kirkland Wedding Photographer

I love this couple and it was such an honor to be apart of their big day. Words can truly not describe how awesome Mark and Anna are, but their whole wedding showed just how cool they were. They had a gorgeous Art Decco themed wedding on the banks of Lake Washington. The Woodmark hotel was stunning and I still get teary eyed looking at their wedding pictures. From the notes they wrote each other, to their first look, to the Christ centered ceremony, the boat ride, and dancing the night away the whole day was full of laughter, love and pure joy.

Thank you guys again for letting me be apart of your big day!

Congrats Again Mr. & Mrs. Jones!

{Darrel & Hannah} Seattle Engagement Photographer

This is such an awesome couple! I met Hannah over a year ago when she was my little sister's room mate and now she is getting married!

I met Darrel and Hannah bright and early down town Seattle and we were able to take advantage of the gorgeous summer weather, the early morning light and the parking!

A huge shout out to Pikes Place Starbucks and the awesome Batista that took the 10 minutes to do this on a Saturday morning!

Faith is so important to Hannah and Darrel and I asked them to pray together. I have no idea what they prayed for or what they said but the picture is such a great testament of their faith, love and that Christ is the center of their relationship.

big thumbs up from the groom to be!

I am so excited for their September Wedding!

{The Luther Family} : Central WA family Photographer

The Luther's were so much fun to work with! Steve and Jen are the owners of an adorable little gift shop in the tiny town of Bickleton, WA. I really encourage you to check them out and chat with them for a bit, you won't regret it!

The two kids were a hoot and I can't wait to hang out with them all again! Through out our shoot I think we laughed more than I had in a very long time.

They also wanted to pose with their guns, which I, as a big pro-gun gal myself, happily agreed too! The finished results were so worth it too. Between the fun, the gorgeous farm we used and the back drop of stunning central Washington we had an amazing family session!

Steve actually made the frame out of old barn wood. you can find more goodies like it at their store!

{The Willhoite Family} Dayton WA Family Photographer

Confession, this is actually MY family. I have been doing the family pictures for my mom's wall for years now, it's just something we do. I have figured out how to set my timer and I do a lot of setting things up, passing off my camera and getting in front of the camera.  This year we added a new member which was very exciting, and to welcome Steve to the family we thought it would be a lot of fun to do a more active and fun session.

My family had came down to the Walla Walla area from Seattle for my daughters birthday and we really wanted to go out to the range with our guns but had limited time, so we combined the two activities and ended up with a very intense family session. Lots of love, laughs, and ammo were had that day!

Without further ado...

You should recognize Katie and Steve from my amazing sunrise engagement session. They are a lot of fun and seriously some of the most photogenic people I get to work with! Also, my son and daughter are the cuties in these pictures and the guy with the great smile and goatee is my handsome, supportive husband.

Location: Private Property off the Touchet river.

Portraits of the Northwest: A back road Journey

I have been wanting to do a personal photography project for a while, it's something that I have always admired but I never had the confidence to say "I can do that" until now.

I talked to my husband about it last night and he told me I would be crazy if I didn't do something like it, but I needed to find a subject matter that was interesting to me regardless of what others wanted to see and if I found it interesting someone else would too.

I thought about that all night. Then I thought about where I live and how much I adore the northwest. It's such a rich, intoxicating, and interesting part of the world. The northwest offers everything from hipsters to mountain men, wine makers to vegans, computer techs to ranchers. How fun would it be to capture and share all the interesting people in the little towns most people just drive through? Everyone has a story and I am dying to share them.

So, my little project is just starting to take flight. I am not entirely sure where it is headed yet but I do know that there are a couple of local galleries I will approach as my portfolio increases. In the mean time, I do need subjects willing to pose and share their story to get the ball moving. So if you have a story to tell please contact me at heatherluann@gmail.com and we will talk.

But most importantly I want to get these stories out there to share with the world. There is no point in telling stories is no one hears them. For the time being they will be on here and my website, but eventually I'd like to get them in their own special place, but until them, please start sharing the project and staying up to date with me here.

As always, I appreciate and love all of my clients, friends and family that have supported me through out my photography journey thus far! Your the best!

xoxo
